AGYA youth work to develop a short stop motion

AGYA youth work to develop a short stop motion with the guidance of Point Youth Media co-founder Hawa Mire, who will spend the next six weeks in East Africa teaching media arts and literacy to specific youth centred organizations.

Point Youth Media (PYM) has had a long time partnership with the Amagezi Gemaanyi Youth Association (AGYA) , having worked with them since their founding in 2008. AGYA is a non-profit organization committed to creating a safe, supportive, sustainable learning environment where Ugandan youth can develop leadership skills and express themselves creatively. AGYA operates a community center that has provided outreach, education, and services to more than 1,000 people living in poverty in urban Uganda.

Youth at AGYA have participated in extensive media arts training and will be working with Mire to implement said training in Uganda (Jinja and Masaka) as well as in Maai Mahiu, Kenya.
